In this episode, Moonbase Alpha is threatened by a series of massive shockwaves originating from a nearby planet. Commander John Koenig, Alan Carter, and Maya travel to the planet to investigate and find a way to stop the destructive energy. They discover a civilization consisting of advanced, chlorine-breathing beings currently in a state of metamorphosis within protective cocoons—the " AB Chrysalis ".
